About
Classes
Hawaii Kenpo Karate, LLC focuses on self
discipline and joining mind and body as one. Students will
start at the beginning level (white belt), progressing to
black belt (belt chart below). Our base system is Kajukenbo
(Karate, Jujitsu, Kenpo, Boxing). This type of martial arts
was put together for practical street fighting. So our focus
is teaching street fighting techniques.

of Kajukenbo
Students will be learning blocks, punches,
kicks, combinations,
Grab arts, ground work, Kata's and more! Body conditioning
along with Fist(knuckle) training is a must. As students
progress, promotion will depend on the students attention,
ability and participation. It get's harder as a student
progresses and defining the techniques will be required more to move
further up in the ranks.
As well as learning how to fight, we also teach all students
to be respectful, to have discipline, to focus, when to
use and when not to use what you learn.
Children - We are always open to accept youths
who are looking to learn self defense. We will try our best
to bring out your child's best abilities in our system.
When your child achieves the rank of black, be assured he/she
will be a well rounded person. Accepting
Ages 6 to Adult. Any younger age will have to be discussed
with the instructor.
Tournaments - We have tournaments
held by affiliate schools and other styles of martial arts
schools. It will be up to the individual and families if
she/he wants to enter tournaments when tournaments come
up.

Chart Below:
There are 2 separate belt ranking
charts to choose from before starting up. Chart on the left
is our Juniors level. This chart is for students who are
6 to 10 years old and attending our 1 hour classes.
|
* Junior level
is our beginner level which is 1 hour per class. The
requirements for this level, a portion of our system
is left out to make it easier for students to progress.
When the child/youth reaches the green belt level,
he/she will be required to start to learn all system
requirements and would have to start to attend the
advance level 2 hours classes from this level and
up, more like catching up. Although it is highly recommenced
that junior students learn the whole system from the
beginning. It will vary on each junior student on
how long it will take to move forward.
Ask
an instructor for more information on length and requirements
needed when a student reaches this level.

Junior Black belts are given to all students
under the age of 18 who meet all requirements.
The Chart on the right is the Advance
chart. Adults and children
(all ages) Will be using our regular
belt ranking which most schools use.
Again! Belt promoting depends
on students attendance, Techniques, participation and knowledge.
Belts are not given if student does not meet requirements.
Playing, not participating, not listening, not attending,
late attending, disrupting class, etc. will be an added factor.
